i also recommend having a focus mode that removes all apps from your home screen & doesnt allow any notifications through

i turn off notifications from every single app on my phone the only things that even show up are direct messages (and they are still silenced via DND)
Always be on Do Not Disturb with emergency bypass on. Nothing is that urgent. 99% of notifications should be default off anyways.
