I will also add that if possible, try not to use a pre-built framework or open-source codebases in your initial product. It will give you a much deeper understanding on how things work. Frameworks help you scale, not necessarily learn.

Our SMB revenue from the EU is almost equivalent to that of the US. When we started, the UK, Netherlands, Germany picked up as much as the US. Language is often not a barrier in SaaS. Good customer support, and availability in their time zones are the two key areas we focused

The shape/size of nozzles on diesel and petrol pumps should be different so that they can not fit into each other's tank. The guy at pump fueled 50Lts of diesel in my petrol tank last night. What a mess it has created!!

1. Customer Support - We are obsessed with customer care and our first hire was a support rep.
2. Content Marketing - Probably the cheapest form of marketing and we invested and over-invested here.

We did what we enjoyed the most and rather than following a set marketing / sales plan, we reacted to how the market was behaving. e.g. A lot of people were asking for a product demo, so we hired someone whose main job was to give those demos. He later became our first sales rep/

Not get stuck in the analysis paralysis phase of thinking and contemplating. If you have an idea which solves a burning need for some people, get started and you will end up figuring out a lot of things while on that journey.

I see

using selfies to verify drivers every now and then, but these guys have a workaround. You should see the GPS coordinates to track why a delivery boy is heading to an opposite direction before clicking a selfie and authenticating themselves. I love Zomato :)

When I joined hands, I had no backup plan. I trusted that I will end up finding something else as I have decent degrees, etc., but I jumped into it with all my heart, conviction believing that there no other way but to make this successful. We worked 18hrs a day in our first year
