It's crazy how much of the limelight is on AI model development and developers, and the data side is not as much talked about. I think we need to appreciate the dataset teams much more. A model is only as good as the data it trains on.

I wonder if those digressions during projects to solve side problems are an attempt to replace a fear-inducing lesser known path with a more known and comforting one!

At a fundamental level, human beings are incapable of being unbiased. For rigorous decision making, you won't win by just trying to cultivate a balanced pov in yourself. A better framework is to add competent humans with different povs. That's the power of diverse teams!

Hyrum's law is actually a special case of how life/species establishes itself. Existence of any favorable substrate makes it highly likely to be adopted. That's just the best general strategy for the user/life/species to be successful.

We'll be "raising" our AIs in the future, like we raise our kids. They will be the sum total of nature (their architecture and initial training) and nurture (how they learn and evolve with you).

Me in 2045: Kids, there used to be a language powering the web called JavaScript in which: null <= 0 // true null < 0 // false null == 0 // false ...and the web somehow still worked!

Our act of understanding the Universe a bit more changes the Universe enough that we will never get to fully understand it.
