You know those cheap little $5 romance novels, I want that, but make it horror.

My New Years Resolutions For 2026: - Write more frequently - Finish my short story/novelette - Get more poems published - Save up enough to get the chest tattoo I want - Double down on my mullet - Become even more of a cryptid to my house-mates you know... normal things to want

don't let 2026 scare you. you scare it. defy a prophecy. grow a forest inside your house. write something beautiful and unhinged. haunt your enemies. collect even more books. be the unmanageable literary horror you want to see in the world.

this is how a lot of writers are too. too much emphasis on bestseller lists, book deals, awards, status, etc. and not enough on what themes you wanna explore, what stories you wanna write, and just having fun with it
too much emphasis on "finding your art style" and not enough on the subject of the art, the themes you want to explore etc, i was talking about this before and someone said it's "like focusing on font when writing" and i couldnt agree more

It's always someone's dream to open a bookstore; but genuinely I just want to start a bunch of local outreach programs to teach people how to make zines, write poetry & short stories. I want to organise reading nights for poetry and fiction that happen more than once a month, etc

aaaaaaah! I want a friend group of poets to talk to! I want a discord server dedicated to writing and discussing poetry! I want regular online meetings to share our favourite poems, our recent publications, and our works in progress! I am longing, impatient and aching... #poetry

Currently reading You Will Find Your Way by Naomi Arnold. I’ve been annotating, underlining, writing back; turning reading into a conversation, not consumption. #amreading #poetrybooks #marginalia #readingpoetry #australianpoetry #YouWillFindYourWay

If you’re still writing the same thing, maybe it’s because it isn’t finished with you yet. A piece on repetition, creative patience, and unfinished work. Now live on Sleeping Eurydice, Link in Bio. #WritingCommunity #writerslife #writerscommunity #Blogs #lifeadvice #poetry

Every time a poem of mine goes up it's still wild that some people give a shit. It's very cool.

December belongs to poetry. To reflection, nostalgia, and endings that don’t quite close. I’ve put together a December poetry reading list: poems for looking back gently, and forward without certainty. Read it on Sleeping Eurydice, Link in Bio. #poetrycommunity #writing #blog

For editors, finding a great submission in the queue is better than a shot of espresso. Writers, be that. Be someone else's shot of espresso. ☕️

Spent some time this week binding a tiny booklet of some of my favourite poems. Highlights include poetry from: John Milton, William Wordsworth, Emily Dickinson, Robert Frost, & Dylan Thomas. #poetry #poetrycommunity

Fun little written story (ARG?) based on a solo journaling RPG - "The Fog".
☁️👁️ the fog hasn’t lifted in four days. it rolled down from the hills before dawn and stayed through the week. it smells faintly metallic, like rusted iron. i keep checking the forecast, but it just says clear? I don't want to drive in this. #FogLog
