One weird side effect of LLMs: it’s now a disadvantage to use new frameworks. If it’s not in the model’s training data, you’re slower by default. Makes me wonder how much innovation gets quietly shelved because of that.

Hot take: AI is great for writing code but I find that I internalize concepts and learn better when I do things the "old fashioned way" with trial and error and reading the docs. It's like taking the stairs v/s taking an elevator.

Why PHP? - Great community - Great tooling - Optional but decent typing - Surprisingly performant. - Plenty of modern features like enums, match, lambdas - Great inter-operable frameworks - Laravel has great ergonomics. Symfony has great predictability.

Side projects are not mandatory. But they do help a lot - especially early in your career. I know many amazing coders who don't do any work outside business hours. But EVERY coder I've met who takes time to learn and do open source/side projects is fantastic. The amount you

I absolutely love the "Build something for 45 min a day" approach. 1. Lets you mull and really understand the problem space. 2. Rely on discipline v/s excitement and hype. 3. Almost feels like a hobby which will (hopefully) make money soon. Great stuff @HashNuke!

Haven't made a demo video yet. But this is 30-45min of work almost everyday for a few months. I can now open CloudWatch Logs and tail it on my mac 😀

This is one of the neatest little things I've seen in an IDE. @phpstorm recognizes that "Height" and "X" don't 'belong together'
