I remember flying to SF to interview at Obvious Corp for a design role. I sat across from Biz and Ev and told them how great Twitter was. They politely thanked me, but they seemed nonplussed. They had moved on.

When I was young, I’d see older vets wearing hats with their unit insignia. I’d thank them for serving. But I’d wonder, Was military service that profound? To define you so many years later? Now I know. It is that profound. It was the honor of my life.
