Why we think Elon's pay package could be a win-win-win. Grow the pie, create abundance.

For the first time in history, abundance is attainable through policy choices rather than technological breakthroughs.

2001: You're paying for minutes and data coverage <1% of the us land area (and that's for like an email with no photos.) 2025: Satellite data over the entire US
Are there any sources on US land coverage for mobile data (not voice/SMS) in 2001? I’ve estimated <1% based on AT&T’s rollout, but that feels too low, what am I missing?

This is not a video game. With lethal connectivity, EagleEye enables Warfighters to command and control unmanned systems and call for fires through a heads-up, hands-free display.

Why are so many tempted by autos at the end market? $$$ and scale. If you are in niche applications solid state can work, but it's hard to get to scale and bring down costs.

...solid state is happening in specific applications. It makes much more sense in applications where battery isn't the largest cost component and the capability offers unique performance characteristics. The idea that it is going straight to cars I find challenging to believe.

From Big Ideas 2017. Range and inflation adjusted the new standard 3 comes right in line with the 2022 forecast. Yes we were 3 years early on that 5 years forward forecast. A lot happened in those 5 years.
In March 2016, Elon unveiled the Tesla Model 3, promising an affordable electric vehicle starting at $35,000. @Tesla When adjusted for inflation, that original target equates to approximately $47,617 in today's dollars. Yet, Tesla has significantly overdelivered on this

Often when the media/industry reports a "decade long shortage" it reflects the current magnitude of the shortage, not the true duration of the shortage. If the market is working, the greater the magnitude of the current shortage, the stronger the price signal, and the shorter

If you build more generating capacity, electricity prices will go down. If you build more housing, rent will go down. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.

Europe has no air conditioning and they have their own energy problems. This alone should stop people from saying "x is a waste of energy" The solution is more energy, not less. And the more generation we build the cheaper electricity will be.
5. HALF of peak demand is heating and air conditioning. Residential demand is ~5x higher on a peak day vs a normal day. We have to build distribution to serve that full peak, even though we normally use 1/5 of that capacity. (chart shows Texas, but it's a similar story
