Johann Gerhard has a very good and interesting argument against communion under one kind from John 6. Here I referenced Cardinal Franzelin's SJ "De Eucharistiae" to respond to Gerhard's thought-provoking argument.

(this is the level of argumentation you find when people appeal to John 8, 1 John 2, etc.).

Did you know? 😱😱. Vatican 2 teaches that good Christians and mean Christians do NOT worship the same God. "We cannot truly call on God, the Father of all, if we refuse to treat in a brotherly way any man, created as he is in the image of God.".Nostra Aetate, 5.

Tried to make this as concise and logical as possible while making it clear what the intended parallel is.

A Protestant cannot believe John is inspired in the same manner they believe the Trinity, the sacraments, and other supernatural objects of revelation that cannot be known by reason. Inspiration is a supernatural fact. Hope this helps us all think through this issue better. ⬇️

DOES GOD LOVE EVERYONE THE SAME? (NO, AND THIS IS GOOD, ACTUALLY) . A short thread on the glorious Catholic doctrine of predilection with Scripture, St. Augustine, St. Thomas Aquinas, and later Thomists. 🧵🧵🧵

What sucks about this debate on Muslims and stuff is that very few people actually understand the Catholic teaching, leading to many strawman arguments from EO and Protestant apologists with their entire fanbase cheering them on as they ridicule the Biblical/historic position.

To conclude, the question is not (as many EO and Protestant apologists fail to realize) whether they a false religion, or antichrists, or blasphemers, or children of the devil, etc. We affirm all of that. But that is a different question than the one at hand.
