Every single time I met Oliver, I was struck by his warmth, kindness and genuine passion for my home city, Plymouth. More focused on action to help constituents over adversarial politics, he will be remembered as one of the good guys. RIP, Oliver.

As the assisted dying bill moves one step closer to becoming law, I am reminded of one of my last speeches in Parliament. The status quo is so incredibly cruel. If you truly believe in personal responsibility and liberty, you should support people to end their pain with dignity.
