You are right. We need to publish something definitive about this. Colleagues have spent a lot of time researching and building evidence but it needs to be in the public domain. I promise to work on this.

@simonharries3 You are indeed correct. I wanted to know the story you referenced when you said that foreign ministers do not know and the lie about the secessionist. You said a couple of things but didnt clarify

The UN is housed and dominated by the US. If it did not exist, as the one and only place int eh world where every country can meet, then what would replace it? The American empire? The Chinese empire? Do you have any better suggestions?

I am afraid this is precisely why the 1960 generation of Lander politicians pushed through the union. They thought being part of a larger country would make them safer. Alas, if only they knew how it would turn out!

@simonharries3 Britain unlawfully took Somali territoriesOgaden (1948), Haud and Reserved Area (1954)—and ceded them to Ethiopia. In 1963, it betrayed the NFD referendum and handed the region to Kenya, disregarding Somali will to serve imperial interests.

Like to message me about this I'll be happy to send some talking points to help with communication. Persistence is needed now. Change doesn't just happen by itself- we need to drive it. Let's make this a proper campaign.

National governments to make Somaliland's case in detail and with real evidence to support it. No doubt the SL government will be holding its own event to expose the truth, but the more people write to representatives, ministries and press the better it will be. If anyone would-

I very much hope that the Somaliland government will not allow its neighbour to set the agenda (and we know they are planning to do just that, maybe by bringing a few stooges from Las Anod to New York. We have to stop them doing it. We need a lot of activity both online and with-

Story. The lie about secessionism is repeated by countries around the world because they cannot grasp what happened or why, and do not understand the catastrophic impact this unique case of identity theft has had. Still, there is no point in moaning about it: action is needed. -

Back in late 1960, the independence and UN membership of Sonmaliland was hijacked by a state that did not legally exist at the time (Somalia) and this fiction has now lasted so long that 3 generations of diplomats have gone by, and today's foreign ministries do not even know the-

The right thing. That's why we need focus. The court case has to be official and government led. So what are waiting for, people? Resources, because lots of countries want access to Berbera. So draw up a treaty with the 1st clause being "We [insert country name] recognise the-

Search for recognition. Legal, because the original union was never sealed by treaty or ratification. Outsiders have used this against Somaliland (How can you end a union when it never really existed?) but a court (UN, national- UK? Or Human Rights) will see through this and do-

There need to be compromises and tough conversations but trust me on this: focus and concentration is all important. If that means making an arrangement with a political opponent for the national interest, i think you need to do that. 3rd, Somaliland has 3 lines of attack in the-
