Why are HSAs connected in any way to insurance policies ? Don't we want people to save as much as possible for their healthcare ? Remove the link to insurance. Increase the caps considerably, or remove them altogether

For any hospital that says they lose money on Medicare/caid patients, I would LOVE to see the bill of materials and direct overhead attributed to the procedures you lose money on How much you pay for that hip implant, the anesthesia, disposables, the doctors/nurses etc, for
Unless you serve primarily Medicare/Medicaid patients and your hospital loses money on every single admission. We charge whatever we want, doesn’t mean we’ll actually get anything. Our safety net hospital is fighting to keep its doors open because others take advantage.

"When it became a direct-to-consumer market, the prices dropped; now Lilly/Novo is leaning all in on direct." Where healthcare is heading: "individuals purchasing coverage directly, rather than relying on employer-sponsored plans that were never designed for this level of cost

Spend money, get an instant notification. Holds true for all purchases except healthcare. Why? Old infrastructure. This feature will save people billions yearly in fraudulent billing. Table stakes for the new healthcare system.

So much of facility contract negotiations comes down to cash flow certainty. With prices transparent, transactions drive real value. Pay easier (no claim submission). Pay faster (time of service). Pay together (member + plan). Pay electronically (ACH, no charge card). Easy $$.

Genotypes are the decisions that clinicians make. Phenotypes are the outcomes/costs we create. There’s just one problem. We have no selective pressure. We have no evolution. We have no competitive ecosystem for value: https://t.co/158pSSy6gU

Direct contracting is an illusion. If you need a TPA, it’s not direct. @mcuban and @GeBaiDC are right: Price transparency is critical. But transparency, without the ability to act on it, is just advertising: https://t.co/39AULYQzuY

I went down the rabbit hole. I almost wish I hadn’t. The healthcare supply chain is a Rube Goldberg machine. There’s a cascade of friction-filled steps. There’s an entire industry of intermediaries. Buckle up, it’s not pretty: https://t.co/nG4MAqOc0p

Is it just me… or does it feel like 1904? Can we free ourselves from this leviathan? https://t.co/oSuZF6ZmWF

When your employer spends $1 on your healthcare, the doctor gets less than 𝟒¢ I followed the money trail… https://t.co/ERXUBdbXQk

@mcuban @Micha_Siegel Why are Medicare prices the right ones? Competition can collapse prices once patients control their $ Directly fund $ to patients. Reinsurance to stabilize premiums for high-need patients. Step back. Let the market cook.
