The UK govt invited thousands of people from the Caribbean to help rebuild Britain post-WW2. But then it denied them their rights and even deported some of them.

A heart wrenching and disturbing post on Reddit by a 19-year-old “Tarteil”. She and her parents are trying to flee to Bahri as RSF occupied their home. Their housekeeper was repeatedly sodomized with a glass bottle by RSF militiamen until he died. #Sudan

Its ridiculous and humiliating how the world is treating Sudanese people closing all doors and borders, however when war erupted in any country, It was Sudan that opened its doors and allowed safe shelter and life to others, this pure form of marginalization. #KeepEyeOnSudan

Other than Chad, Sudan's neighbouring countries are taking a markedly harsh approach towards civilians fleeing the war. Ethiopia - pre-applied visas only or sent to refugee camps. Egypt - hours and hours of waiting time at the border and slow visa processing for men under 50.

‼️A group of UK Uni Sudanese Societies are raising money for emergency aid in #Sudan. We already sent the first phase of funds to the Sudan and we need your help to reach our goal! We are expanding to fund projects such as medical supplies in Omdurman. https://t.co/jYBuXXeYHQ

A lot of you are not grasping the magnitude of the damage in Khartoum - which was already functioning at a suboptimum level. Even if this war were to end right now, it will be months before Khartoum can function again. It's a matter of time before khartoum becomes inhabitable.

A month ago today, the Sudanese community woke up to the horrors of war in the capital. 750,000 people have been displaced, hundreds killed and thousands injured in this period of brutal violence between the SAF & RSF. How has it impacted you?

What happened to my grandparents was a crime against humanity not only by the RSF & SAF but by the British Embassy. My grandmother died of starvation. My grandfather got shot 3 times after leaving to get food & water- his condition is still critical. @UKinSudan @GilesLeverUK

Watching the brutality unleashed on Sudan by the RSF, I can't help but remember that the EU was warned 4 years ago that funds from its "Better Migration Management" program were enriching the RSF. @KaamilAhmed reported: https://t.co/K5NaLb76ZJ

Word of the day is ‘sequacity’ (17th century): blind subservience, a lack of independent thought, and a readiness to follow someone no matter what they do or say.

A petition is currently circulating with over 24,000 signatures for the UK government to create a Sudanese Family Scheme visa - similar to the Homes for Ukraine scheme that allowed for the reunion of many Ukrainian refugees with their families in the UK.

Being Black and poor in America should not be crimes punishable by vigilante death. Jordan Neely did not just deserve to live. He deserved to live a better life than what our society decided to afford him. We are devastated by his loss. @AAPolicyForum's full statement:

My British grandfather has been stuck at home with little water & food. He lives right in front of the British embassy. We’ve lost contact with him 5 days ago and asked the embassy to at least pass him water. @UKinSudan has put in no effort or serious concern into the matter.
