we’re always referring to the name of the SHOP. yall talm bout “be specific”, if the name of the shop was Ghanaian Braids or Senegalese Braids we would say that. on top of that, it’s usually in a complimentary way because the braids are top tier —
@yuurrrr2
But if that’s the case and no one said anything, why wait until men openly express their dislike for it to be like “oh yeah ts definitely ugly.” That defeats the purpose of not saying anything in the first place.
@stunningselmg
girl CLEARLY this the first time i have seen people express a problem with the term in reference to braids. that’s why i asked when it became a thing.
and if it don’t apply BITCH let it fly. i never saw anyone diss birthday makeup all the time until men started saying shit about it. these niggas be down bad with streaks in they drawls, we all know that no one gives a DAMN what they think except for you pick me ass bitches.

If I owned a business on foreign land that’s exactly what I’d expect them to say. “The Americans” or “Black Americans”. How tf Africans offended by being called African?

@zinn58635
half of the time the names of the shops say “African braid salon” or something similar … it’s not that hard to understand. Just as people say they go to the Dominicans for a silk press.

it’s actually so aggravating like yeah some women may have not had the taste for it but as soon as men started hating on it then it became this big ass trend to shit on girls just enjoying their birthday like …O.o

if we could just watch pre-recorded lectures, some of us could continue working full time jobs to sustain ourselves... but professors not ready for that conversation.
if you choose to abstain/vote no for the optional pass/fail system just because your grades are okay, you selfish af 💀 and this coming from someone with a 4.0 — some of y’all are a trip fr

my job told us if we’ve been fully vaccinated we can come to work with no mask. i asked a couple guys if they really got the vaccine and they said “hell nah”... but their masks were off. and that’s why I will continue to wear my mask even though I’ve been vaccinated.
going from a being homeless for years and barely having an acceptable GPA in high school to being at the top of my class at Howard? AND being classified as a sophomore in my first semester? that’s a flex that makes the struggles worth it 🤷🏽♀️ and i’m not sorry
