Just in: After nine NBA seasons, New York Knicks guard Malcolm Brogdon has decided to retire from basketball, he tells ESPN. Brogdon became the 2017 Rookie of the Year and 2023 Sixth Man of the Year after being drafted No. 36 in 2016.

This time, the player waived himself, but the result remains the same.
For the record, I’m not equating the two players on a skill/talent level. The similarity is, the Knicks signed MKG in 2020, (which got Knicks Twitter GOING), only to waive him a week before the season started. Don’t be surprised if history repeats itself.
