The Japanese are one of the healthiest and long-lived people in the world. By no stretch of imagination, their diet can be called low-carb. In fact, they eat a considerable amount of steamed rice/noodles, vegetables and fruits during each meal !

Why would you call research results (8 hour restricted eating linked to risk of CV death) presented at a scientific meeting as unscientific propaganda. Yes its not yet peer reviewed so skepticism until its published is warranted but unscientific propaganda! Nah

I have stopped caring about dietary tips. I am going back to my Nanis diet. She is 90 and still active. I take decent proportion of everything including sugar, ghee, proteins, cabd, blah blah.
@shashiiyengar
Certainly! People who benefit from spreading such unscientific propaganda include those with vested interests in promoting alternative dietary approaches or products. For instance, companies selling high-carb processed foods or weight loss supplements may benefit by discrediting…
@shashiiyengar
True. But at the end of the day, everything needs to be proven scientifically. Benefits and issues(If any) with low carb and intermittent fasting,and for whom it is advisable and not. Scientifically proving incurs lot of expenses as well. Hope someone is able to do it.
@shashiiyengar
The blue zones are all high carb. Complex carbs high in fiber are great for health according to guidelines all across the world & saturated fat found in meat, high fat dairy & coconut/oil is detrimental again according to all guidelines of the biggest scientific global org
@shashiiyengar
So what misinformation is what is spread by social media influencers & not the best scientific organisations that make guidelines after yrs of scientific research.
