Forcing car scrapping after 10/15 yrs is absurd. Car can be good/bad at any age. Few questions: • If age matters, why PUC? • If pollution matters, why spare parali? • Even the West allows old cars if fit. This policy = more manufacturing, more waste.

@shashank_ssj Govt wants to boost automobile sector by imposing unnecessary cost on consumers. Old cars can be in good condition which owners might not want to scrap. Boosting manufacturing growth in the behest of consumer hard earned money is a very bad idea.

@shashank_ssj Exactly. If pollution was the real concern, they’d crack down on parali and factories too. Forcing scrapping despite valid PUC just shows it’s more about boosting sales than saving the environment.

@shashank_ssj Absolutely agree. A well-maintained car, even 15+ years old, can run cleaner than a badly kept 5-year-old one. Scrapping based on age alone makes no scientific or environmental sense. This seems less about pollution control and more about boosting new car sales. Let fitness

@shashank_ssj If age mattered, why bother with PUC checks at all? Cars can be clean or dirty at any age. Blanket scrapping just fuels more waste and lines pockets, not cleaner air. Smart policy means targeting real polluters, not punishing owners blindly.

@shashank_ssj There was proposal to set up fitness centres for automobiles. Instead of implementing that process,short cut has been taken to of limit the age of the vehicles irrespective of 'km run' and fitness condition. It is clear example of power of lobbying over technology and Judiciary.
