In Minnesota, over 190 cities have municipal-run liquor stores, mostly in small towns, to accommodate for beer deserts - areas where it's not profitable to run a liquor store. So why can't we open up municipal-run grocery stores to accommodate for food deserts?

Okay big failure - the @readingrainbow theme song on @lastfm as my 2nd most listened to song of the year and nowhere to be found on my 2024 Wrapped playlist. I'm sad. I'm hurt. @levarburton is enraged. We've failed Tina Fabrique. Are there no butterflies in the Swedish sky?

If the mayor wants to attack teachers to distract voters from his failed tenure, go for it. See how that works for you next November.
Students should be learning about love, not hate. The MFT Educators for Palestine should cancel their seminar with Taher Herzallah, who has openly expressed anti-Semitic views, including calling Jewish people “enemy number one.” Schools must be spaces for unity, not division.

I am deeply honored to have been selected by a majority of voters to represent district 61a in the Minnesota House of Representatives. A sincere thank you to Minneapolis voters for entrusting me to lead with the values of our district at the Capitol. Onward.

Okay so I just listened to @WedgeLIVE's interview of mayoral candidate @DewayneDavis71 and he literally said - not once, but twice - that we should be recruiting teachers to become cops. My head just exploded. 🤯

🚨 I'm breaking my silence in an exclusive interview with People magazine. I'm finally opening up to tell my story. It's a candid and raw look at my life as the Minnesota man who started a cat tour. https://t.co/8lx9tHgiDu

John Edwards started the Minnesota cat tour in 2017 and since, it's grown into an event drawing hundreds to the area.

Thanks to Councilmember Chugtai & @WedgeLIVE for this shout-out to our Youth Auto Theft prevention program. 81% of youth had NO new charged cases. Youth auto theft was down in every ward in Minneapolis. Early intervention helps create a safer, more just & equitable county.
Being a council member in a time of crime is a rough job because the mayor has always been 100% in charge of the still fully-funded and highly paid police department.

Congratulations to @KatieJonesMpls for winning the DFL primary for 61A last night! Katie is an engineer, climate activist, and community leader who has been a strong advocate for climate action at the City and State level, and we know she'll continue that work as a state rep.

Congrats to BOTH of the incredible elected leaders in this photo for big victories last night, @KatieJonesMpls & @IlhanMN! Our state and city couldn't be luckier to have you two representing us. This photo is from 2018(!), a few days before Ilhan was first elected to Congress.

I’m so happy that 61A is sending @KatieJonesMpls to the legislature. Rep. Hornstein is a huge climate champion, and it’s great to have someone who can step right and keep us headed in the right direction.

.@IlhanMN beating Samuels and @KatieJonesMpls beating Stancil are two very different races, but we can learn a key lesson from both: voters want someone who is in the community doing the work—and will reject people who insult and condescend to their constituents. Dems, take note!

I hope you’ll join me in casting a ballot in the DFL Primary Election tomorrow, August 13. Many of us in Minneapolis Ward 7 live in Minnesota House District 61A. I would like to thank Representative Frank Hornstein for his years of service to this District. He has been (1/3)

The DFL primary is tomorrow. I’m running for MN House because our city is in need of durable state solutions. I'm running because our state can't afford anything less than the compassionate, collaborative leadership it's known from this district, for people and the planet. Vote

Hi, Paul! Since you're a policymaker who is too busy during the Senate break to read or look at any data or analysis to inform your decisions or thinking as a policymaker—let me help out a very busy man like you! First, let's look at the economic impact:
I think you know school lunches were already free for those who could not afford them. Walz gave “free” breakfast and lunch to every student. Paid for by increased taxes.
