As a SAG-AFTRA Board member and former session director with relationships across the casting community, I’m spreading awareness and looking into options to hold him accountable. I am so sorry you experienced this and your bravery in speaking out and your class speak volumes.
**Dearest friends, If you ever read anything I ever write or post, may it be this: My brutally honest report after spending two years inside the highest levels of our union's leadership. It's not an easy report to hear, and it wasn't easy report to write.
The AMPTP is no longer serving the interests of the production companies or entertainment labor.
I think it’s time to end the AMPTP and for our employers and us employees to deal with each other directly.
If you have not seen The Chosen, binge the first two seasons on the app, which you can get on the app store, or watch them on Peacock, Amazon, or at: . And then watch Season 3 episodes in the theaters, and get your tickets at:

Just brilliantly put with no less soul and passion and care and sensitivity and humility than I would expect. Love you, brother. We're all lucky to have you advocate for us.
@BootsRiley
Member of the SAG NegCom here: I appreciate your passion, but these productions are not getting "waivers". They are signing "interim agreements" meaning they're agreeing to all the things we're fighting the AMPTP for. They are the good guys. Support them.
Join us for a conversation and Q&A with SAG-AFTRA LA Local and National Board members with concerns about the terms of the 2023 Tentative Agreement.
This is intended to be a respectful, welcome space to share our concerns.
No judgment. No telling anyone how to vote.
Thank you to everyone who supported me in this election. I'm overwhelmed. The LA Local rose up with a powerful voice asking for change. I can't wait to get back to work on behalf of our members. It's our union. Join committees and projects. Get involved. Time to rock.

URGENT UPDATE FOR SAG-AFTRA LA MEMBERS: What is happening in our union is not okay. Here's why. :: A follow up to my 2019 Letter read by over 10,000 members.
Theo & Juliet and I are offering a one day acting business intensive, Saturday, August 11th @ Santa Monica Playhouse. Combines the popular content from our talks at SAG-AFTRA. This is the first time this content is being made available outside the union.
I cannot believe that the President of my union would publicly say that our members are so desperate that there are no circumstances under which our members would strike and should, therefore, take any deal, no matter how bad.
@EverCarradine
Thanks for this post, Ever. So apparently everyone else gets paid for our auditions even though it’s our work and we’re the ones entitled to pay for auditions in our contract.
The costs of casting have been transferred onto actors and now they want us to pay them? WTF

What the hell is this? Promoting an elected member using our official social media? Are we going to celebrate the shows of all our members or just the President? This is all our members need to see to understand how we’re being led.
Thanks to your trust and support, we have reformed LA Local leadership and put our union in its strongest negotiating position in SAG-AFTRA history. Over the past two years, I led efforts to protect members from abusive and unreasonable self-taped audition practices, relaunched

There has been some valid frustration with the SAG-AFTRA leadership around the Interim Agreement and the lack of clear communication on the strategy behind it.

"What's the point of a strike if producers can still make
Not only is that not true, but it explains why a negotiating committee chaired by her achieved so little in this negotiation. We deserve better.

Hi, Craig. I can shed some light on the issues that you feel SAG-AFTRA has failed to address. I've been a tireless advocate for reform and we've made a lot of progress. As for the health plan, there's a very clear path on how to fix that problem, but it will take group effort.

There sure are. And our union will again. Every day we're making progress towards a reformed union with the solidarity to fix these problems. There is light at the end of the tunnel. Take it from someone who's been deeply involved for 7 years now.

@sagaftra
This statement by SAG-AFTRA’s own social media account is so false and so disingenuous, it saddens me. Just knowing that this contract drastically reduces the broadcast syndication residuals affecting 35,000 members disproves it. Why are you doing this? It’s misinformation.
So we’re not getting paid for our auditions as required by our contract, self-taped auditions have transferred the costs of casting onto us, and now they want us to pay them for taping us? Is this even legal, let alone ethical? What is even happening?
@AnnaAkana
Hi Anna. Check out this doc of self taping limitations and guidelines we're developing in the LA Local of SAG-AFTRA. We're going to be pushing back in a major way soon to all this madness.
@EverCarradine
It's an issue of ethics and legality. A casting director is going to have a hard time explaining the difference to the City Attorney between: actors used to come in to audition and we'd tape them, and actors come in to audition and we charge them to tape them.
Tonight we have an amazing panel discussion about working in commercials in 2021, and as we are closer to the post-pandemic future.
