It's an issue of ethics and legality. A casting director is going to have a hard time explaining the difference to the City Attorney between: actors used to come in to audition and we'd tape them, and actors come in to audition and we charge them to tape them.

Hey, brother. That's actually the opposite in our union. We want the most experienced and accomplished performers in leadership, because they work our contracts the most and don't have to fear retaliation for speaking up. But, "celebrity" or not, they have to be union literate.
