We need to stop avoiding the words “Human Rights Act", because while we’ve been busy trying to find softer framings, the Act itself continues to be chipped away – in rhetoric, in policy, and in public understanding. ⬇️ https://t.co/H2kWajtZ3P

So … I was worried about writing this.   Why? … it’s critical of many of us who’ve been in the UK human rights space. It's self-reflective that I’ve been guilty of not saying the words Human Rights...

Contrary to perception we actually do very little work in London, so getting this programme up and running has been great. After a year of development, we've just completed year 1 of working with our partners and see some brilliant changes using our Human Rights Act! ⤵️

At primary school my best friend & I were the only girls boys "allowed" to play breaktime football, eventually got our school to start a girls team & teachers got other local schools to join in. Had to stop at Senior school. Brillaint that little girls today have these heroes 👏

Rail travel, what fun. For the around £90, you can have the whole line down for a day, apply for the refund and hope for the best - don't forget admin fees - or indeed on the days when it does work you get stand for hrs in a 5 carriage train that shd be 8 but even then is full.

The fun of £88.79 @south_railway for a day return to London (65 miles), with the predictability of the air conditioning not working on one of the hottest days of the year, so we all get to drip sweat over each other (that & delays are the only consistencies)

Funding our human rights community work means ... 👉 enabling groups to use the law to secure everyday justice in health, care, education, welfare, housing - the things the impact us all AND 👉 amplifying their voices to change the systems the set the rules in the first place.
