Hearing Dogs also offer constant companionship and emotional support, giving deaf people the confidence to reconnect with their family, friends and community around them.

Funds raised will help train dogs to alert deaf people to important and life-saving sounds such as smoke alarms, alarm clocks and oven timers.

Our companion animal practices and referrals hospitals will also host Pennies digital charity boxes, giving clients the option to add small donations when paying by card or mobile.

Over the next 12 months, CVS colleagues throughout the UK will take part in fundraising events including sponsored walks, dog shows, and bake sales to raise funds for this amazing charity.

Rolo and his owner Phil came into the Donnington practice today to give the team a talk on Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, who are CVS’s charity of the year! Phil’s talk was very informative and allowed the team to understand the work that Hearing Dogs provide.

Massive congratulations to Clare who has passed her final exam (known to student nurses as OSCEs) and is now a fully qualified RVN!. Clare is currently working as part of our MiNight team, who look after patients during out of hours at the hospital.

It’s with great sadness that on Friday we said farewell to RVN Lizzy. Lizzy worked for Severn Edge back when we were known as Old Pound, 20 years ago! She will be missed by many clients and by all of us, as she is spending more time on her family farm. We will miss you Lizzy!
