How much is it to visit your museum? The price of a coffee or an ice cream? Just £4 or £3 for concessions. Kids under 16 free, but must be accompanied by an adult. Or visit as much as you like with an annual pass £12 or £9 concessions. Open Tuesdays to Saturdays. #HerneBay

Today, we celebrated the bicentenary of the Canterbury & Whitstable Railway being granted royal assent, with @Se_Railway, @WhitsMuseum, & @crabandwinkle, & a new history panel at Whitstable station, followed by a private opening of the @railway200 exhibition at Whitstable Museum.

200 years ago today, royal assent was granted for construction of the Canterbury & Whitstable Railway, which became the world's first steam hauled passenger railway. To celebrate, @Se_Railway has teamed up with Whitstable Museum @WhitsMuseum with a brand new exhibition & events.

Today in 1943, the famous ‘Dam Busters’ raid by the 617 Squadron of Lancaster bombers breached the Mohne, Eder and Sorpe dams in Germany. Prototypes of the Bouncing Bomb were tested at sea off #Reculver, in #Kent, observed by inventor Dr Barnes Wallis and his team from the land.
