I was recently on a podcast discussing Erlang / Elixir and the significant advantages that its runtime environment can bring over the industry status quo. I worked to specifically providing insight for my PHP / Java / C# experienced friends. https://t.co/WZMhaXEVqd
Ep. 12: Building on the BEAM, Part 1 w/ @ShawnMcCool Why do #Erlang & #Elixir excel at distributed systems? We explore: • Process isolation & concurrency • Actor model & message passing • "Let it crash" philosophy • Hot code upgrades 🎧 https://t.co/wXvyUsRBPF

A team who allows messes to persist in their code will gradually slow down to a tiny fraction of their potential productivity. I’ve seen teams that have expanded their estimates out to weeks and months for jobs that ought to take a day or two. The slower the team goes, the more

Turns out, streaming OpenAI responses is a piece of cake with Req and ServerSentEvents. Check it out: #MyElixirStatus s/o @wojtekmach and @benjreinhart for Req and ServerSentEvents, respectively

Got tired of the double Ctrl+C to exit iex, so I customized my .iex.exs to quit with a simple 'q+Enter' or 'exit+Enter'. 🙌 Small tweak, big difference! Making my #elixir workflow faster and smoother 🚀 #myelixirstatus

I was just testing out Elixir 1.17’s new test breakpoints to verify that my test setup was actually doing what I thought 😅 Happy to report they’re 🤩 Just run your tests in `iex` with the `-b` flag! 👇 🔗 https://t.co/f0ERP5NAtt

This is amazing!🤯 I can see someone getting millions in funding building a product around these ideas, and here it is just the first day of @supabase's launch week. Well done! And kudos to the @ElectricSQL team on shipping PG Lite with such amazing features. 👏
We’re launching a new @supabase service: https://t.co/AiMqlarwjS It’s like if ChatGPT and Postgres had a love-child: launch as many databases as you want, build them with AI, create charts, create embeddings. 100% open source.

I got tired of using Ctrl+C twice to exit an iex session, so I updated my .iex.exs to allow exiting with just 'q+Enter' or 'exit+Enter'. It's more intuitive and similar to Ruby's irb! #myelixirstatus
