What does the Heroic demand in our time and place? Can classical education grounded in the Great Books aspire to that heroic, or is it destined to be a substitute for the heroic? Those, among other things, are questions raised in this penetrating essay.
Matthew Freeman with another banger: on classical education, Homer, Orestes, Schiller, Gregory Nagy, Robinson Jeffers, Chesterton's Fence, and a bloody renaissance. 🔥

Other polls show that almost 3/4 of married mothers would prefer not to work full-time when their children were under 18. The side-hustle--trad-tradmom alliance is the future of American culture. @FamStudies

Interesting that about 20% of Americans think that it is ideal for children to have a mother working full time. Unable to see this question asked again in the same way. Thanks to @grok for saving this report, which is no longer on the Pew site.
