The #ProgrammeforGovernment will continue to protect the most financially vulnerable from through the Council Tax Reduction scheme. And record funding for local government will mean councils can deliver the high quality services that people need.

More than 450,000 households across Scotland will receive some level of Council Tax Reduction this year, helping them with the cost of living. This will save people, on average, more than £850 a year.

@scotgov will work with authorities to remove the constraint on the level of Council Tax premium that can be applied to second and long-term empty homes. This empowers Councils to make decisions on the balance of housing in their area, ensuring good quality and affordable homes.
