It's been more than a month since I successfully defended my thesis, and from early this week I can officially call myself a Doctor! This wouldn't have been possible without the immense support of my supervisor @iOttGroup and the team. Hope to have more updates soon!

(6/8) Moreover, we got an upgrade of our lab equipment: a 100x objective lens for the fluorescence microscope. That allowed us to do deeper mechanistic studies using fluorescence and led to understand more about the mode of action of silver complexes in Gram-negative bacteria.

(5/8) The effect of my complexes turned out to be a direct hit: iodides worked much better against TrxR in E.coli than their chloride analogues.

(3/8) Although we saw the effect clearly, we didn’t know why it happened. They seem to have no difference in activity against pure TrxR and GR, the effect of biofilm inhibition was (almost) identical. https://t.co/OWtQ7elEWn

(2/8) As one of our reviewers noticed, it is necessary to read the first part of the project published in ACS Infectious diseases. Most important: change of halide (chloride to iodide) in silver NHC complex led to stronger antibacterial effect in Gram-(!) pathogenic strains.

С тем самым днем, когда, спустя целых 3,5 года жизни в Германии, у меня наконец-то спиздили велик. Компенсировано ожидание с лихвой: и тем, что это был ebike, и фактом пиздига прям с парковки института, в котором я работаю.

Не знаю, для кого это пишу, но: Сегодня попробовал подать на #B1/B2 визу в США для участия в конференции. Ожидаемо, все кончилось запросом админпроверки. Есть среди твиттерожителей подобные случаи? Если что, не надеюсь в быстрый положительный отклик (и от консульства тоже хддд)
