#ChinaTargets What looked like a routine extradition case in France turned out to show raw evidence of Chinese officials implicating Alibaba's Jack Ma in a state-sponsored intimidation campaign & weaponizing #Interpol red notices to force a businessman to return to China.
ICIJ's #ChinaTargets found that China has misused Interpol’s red notice system to target not only criminals, but businesspeople with political connections, regime critics and members of persecuted religious minority groups seeking refuge overseas.
