As a teacher, I used to get a bit overwhelmed when I saw someone else doing something amazing - in their instructional practice or in their assessment design. Now, I just celebrate it. I'm so excited for the students who have the chance to learn in such inspired classrooms

We assume so much about what students can already do. The classroom is where we teach those behaviors, not just expect them (although we need to do both).
How often have we asked kids to: Think Pair Share Collaborate Discuss Or anything requiring communication... Without explicitly teaching them HOW to do this things in the first place? We need to model, provide visible cues & expectations, & reteach at times. We can't assume.
