When the Matthew Effect meets nepo babies . "Academics from poorer backgrounds introduce more novel scientific concepts, but are less likely to receive recognition, as measured by citations, Nobel Prize nominations, and awards.".
Nepo babies run academia!. 50% of US profs come from rich families, ~5% from poor ones. Kids tend to follow parents (architect dad = architecture prof). Plus working-class profs either don't publish or make huge breakthroughs when they do. Get less credit despite equal output.
