It's not that I disbelieve the stat about AB's measles cases, I just don't understand the mechanism for it. AB doesn't seem to have uniquely low vax rates compared to places with similar politics, it's not uniquely densely populated, so why does it have so many cases?.

Tha Canadian paradox is that while there's no real cohesive Canadian identity, outside of Quebec there's also very little distinctive provincial identity. Just a people unmoored from culture.
1/ I was listening to folks on the CBC Alberta At Noon call-in show describe what they believe "Alberta culture" and "Alberta identity" to be. It became clear fairly quickly that lots of folks have a sense of exceptionalism that has no basis whatsoever in reality or history.
