We’ve been made aware of emails requesting proof of liability insurance, so far only from Lancashire police, although other forces may roll it out. DEFRA originally stated owners didn’t need to send proof of insurance renewal, click link for further info .

Final neuter deadline was 30th June, this was the final date for dogs to be neutered & a cut off date to submit VCN01 neuter documentation. We’ve already had reports of void exemption certificates from owners trying to submit today. For help or advice, message our Facebook page

🎉 OMAR IS COMING HOME 🎉.Omar was seized in March by Cheshire police as a suspected banned breed & later assessed by the Dog Legislation Officer as a Pit Bull type dog. Omar's case was heard yesterday & we’re delighted Omar will be returning home once the paperworks complete❤️

🍀 PLEASE WISH BIGGIE GOOD LUCK 🍀. Biggie's owner is in court tomorrow to ask for exemption to be granted and him to be returned to her. Biggie was seized on the 22nd January and subsequently assessed as an XL Bully type dog, he has never shown aggression or behaved badly.

😍 COOPER IS HOME 😍. Cooper was seized on December 4th by South Yorkshire Police, he was granted exemption at court 3 weeks ago. Cooper has now been neutered and all his paperwork completed with DEFRA, he has been returned to his delighted Mum today. ❤️

2/2. If your dog is registered as exempt you must continue to abide by the conditions, including meeting neutering deadlines and renewing your annual insurance with Dogs Trust as well as muzzling your dog in public and keeping them on a lead.

1/2. There is still no process to deregister dogs now thought not to be banned breeds. The question was asked in parliament last week, the answer is 'soon'. This is a huge failure from two consecutive governments, it has now been more than 12 months that owners have been waiting

🎉 KILO HAS BEEN GRANTED EXEMPTION 🎉. Kilo was seized in August last year by West Mercia Police, he was then assessed as an XL Bully type dog. His owner has been in court today and won. As soon as the paperwork and neutering is completed Kilo will be returned back home.

🎉 LUNA IS HOME 🎉. Luna was seized as a suspected XL Bully by Cheshire police, this was later confirmed by the Dog Legislation Officer. It's taken 8 months to get her home, she was granted exemption at court. Her owner is delighted that she's finally back and in good condition
