This is vital work! And I am excited to work with folks in Berkeley organizing and pushing @UCBerkeley to use their public funds towards building out equitable vs. exploitative communities. Peace to the residents of @save1921walnut being displaced by @UCBerkeley

The Berkeley City Council vote was 8-1. @KateHarrisonD4 was the ONLY City Council member who voted against the secret settlement deal with UC. Thank you CM Harrison for showing true courage,for standing up for tenants & govt transparency! The fight is not over friends…stay tuned

Today @JesseArreguin sold-out us tenants & our friends at People’s Park. They used us as a pawn & gave us up to UC. Mayor Arreguín came to our homes & said he wouldn’t let this happen…Today, he didn’t even call us first. We had to read about it in the news. We are horrified :(
.@JesseArreguin has betrayed low-income/houseless Berkeleyans, by allowing himself to be bought out by UCB's lucrative deal with the city. Jesse has chosen profit over the very people he was elected to represent. The mayor of Berkeley is a spineless, compassionless politician.
