Chennai has to open up and become more cosmopolitan if it wants significant growth in Tech. So called weather problem + insularity + lack of nightlife all make Chennai the least favourable metro for tech investments and migration. It struggles to attract/retain premium talent.

Calm down dude. Its one id on X. Tiruvannamalai is having Telugu boards in Temple and surrounding areas to make it easier for the large no.of Telugu pilgrims. This small town is adapting and trying to keep up with this sudden inflow of vistors. No need to slander entire TN.
Uttar Pradesh, thousands of kilometres away, had Telugu on their boards during Mahakumbh. Tamil Nadu, our next-door neighbour, cries over a few Telugu signboards near a temple flooded with Telugu devotees. That’s not pride. That’s plain INSECURITY.

Looks like things maybe changing. Thirdwave coffee which was absent in Chennai a year back, is expanding big time now. They've opened 4 outlets in the last quarter and more are set to be opened soon. Luxury Hotel chains like Ritz-Carlton & JW Marriot are also set to enter now.
Many major startup companies that cater to cosmopolitan population are conspicuously absent in Chennai. For eg no Blue Tokai. Must be a combination of bad PR, lower disposable incomes and perhaps some insularity (perceived?) too.
