I've written something about the Independent Office for Police Conduct's ill-judged decision to launch a criminal investigation into a police officer, alleging they leaked footage of the Manchester Airport violence to @MENnewsdesk

Still can’t quite believe Oasis played Heaton Park tonight. Here’s my review of how it all unfolded: ‘A homecoming of epic proportions as Gallagher brothers make history yet again’ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ @CityLifeManc @MENnewsdesk #oasislive25 #OasisManchester

Sorry Sadiq, you're talking rubbish - my take on the mayor moaning about London being "levelled down" @MENnewsdesk
https://t.co/CYkbsUhluM

Of course, the mayor will always make the case for the city he represents - as he should. But his 'us-versus-them' rhetoric is unhelpful says Jo Timan.

Just arriving in Westminster ahead of a full day’s lobbying with @MetroMayorSteve for our new rail line. So what a boost to see our two famous papers lining up together in support! 🙏🏻 200 years after we opened the world’s first inter-city line, we’re ready to do it again! 💪🏻

Proud to join forces with my friend and Reach plc colleague @sarahllester to back calls for a transformational investment in rail links between our two great city regions. Today we're setting traditional rivalries aside and speaking with one voice. https://t.co/kzMgeugO7Q

Greater Manchester mayor @AndyBurnhamGM and Liverpool mayor @MetroMayorSteve are in Westminster today lobbying for the development that had been supported by the previous government.

A new Manchester to Liverpool railway line could transform the north west's railways. That's the vision revealed today that could see passengers finally get the kind of service 'long-enjoyed by...

It is absurd that our cities are less than 40 miles apart, but the journey is rarely straightforward. A new line would be transformative for people in and around Gtr Manchester and Liverpool, bringing jobs, attracting investment and driving regeneration.
manchestereveningnews.co.uk
A new line between our cities could slash journey times with express trains running every 10 minutes - it is well overdue.

In a somewhat unusual move @mariabreslin from the @LivEchonews and I have joined together to call on the government to fund a new train line between our cities. There have been years of underfunding of infrastructure in the North with more than double spent per person in London.

I've spent hours trawling through three years of messages in the Trigger Me Timbers WhatsApp group. The good, the bad and the ugly. And boy, does it get ugly. But it reveals much more about our politicians than you might think @MENnewsdesk

Foul-mouthed messages have exposed nasty name-calling by our elected representatives. But the leaked WhatsApp conversations also show politicians airing their frustrations with the job and sharing...

Old habits die hard, but the North deserves better - my take on Rachel Reeves's speech yesterday @MENnewsdesk

Rachel Reeves is looking South for growth. It must not be at the North's expense.
