“Wild elephants sleep about 2 hours in a 24 hour period (divided into 15-30 minute sleep units). They remain standing because their muscle structure allows them to lock their rigid legs, maintaining their stamina” 📍 T.E.N.P @KWSTsavoEast 23.02.2025

A familiar question always arise; “How do elephants sleep?” Research has shown that Matriarchs (herd leaders) sleep for about 2hrs in a day-between 5am & 6am Adults sleep while standing, their muscle system locks completely (in the limbs) to prevent falling or tripping over. 1/2

#Zimbabwe culling 50 #elephants in Save Valley C. They are scentient, reminiscent, social creatures that mourn their dead. When you kill an elephant, a matriarch, you break a family structure. You traumatise an entire generation. Arguing w "Carrying capacities" is wrong!
