Actually the tip "feature" has levelled the field with direct autos. So, I'm saving lot of time and stress by just hopping on the nearest available auto. Most helpful for short distances
When Uber asks you to offer more money to get a cab/auto faster, dont do it. All they are going to do is figure out that you are willing to pay more and charge you higher forever. Instead, cancel the ride and try again about 100m away.
