A brutal 10h attack on Ukraine. This is not the language of diplomacy, nor of a country claiming to negotiate peace. On their way to kill civilians, Russian drones again violated Moldovan airspace, forcing its temporary closure. We condemn these attacks and stand with Ukraine.

Europe’s stability depends on Ukraine’s independence, sovereignty, and security being fully guaranteed. Unity and determination from all of Ukraine’s partners are essential to ensure a peace that will endure.

Russia’s horrible attack on Ukrainian cities — including Ternopil, where civilians were killed — shows once again the Kremlin’s contempt for humanity. These atrocities cannot become routine and demand a united international response to stop Russia’s aggression.

Kicked off my visit to Brussels with a productive meeting with @eucopresident Antonio Costa. With a strong mandate from our citizens, Moldova stands ready to take the next steps on its EU accession path.

Today, the new Government led by Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu was sworn in. Moldova is ready to build on the progress achieved — advancing economic development, strengthening institutions, and moving confidently towards EU membership.

Spoke at the @ParisPeaceForum about the need to defend information integrity. Information manipulation is a weapon used by Russia to divide and weaken nations. Europe must act together — united and resilient — to protect truth, peace, democracy, and our way of life.

Pleased to meet @PeterDeRoover1, President of the Belgian Chamber of Representatives. We discussed Moldova’s EU accession and Belgium’s strong support. Moldova continues to strengthen its democracy and remains firmly committed to its European journey.

In Paris, I met with @RiouxRemy, CEO of @AFD_France, to discuss development projects that improve the lives of Moldovans — from energy and irrigation to afforestation and justice sector expertise. Grateful for France’s lasting support for Moldova’s modernisation.

Met with Prime Minister @NikolPashinyan on the sidelines of the @ParisPeaceForum. I congratulated Armenia on the progress towards peace with Azerbaijan. We also exchanged views on protecting sovereignty and democracy from malign interference.

I’m in Paris today for the @ParisPeaceForum at the invitation of @EmmanuelMacron. I began my visit with a discussion hosted by @ecfr on developments in Moldova with experts in international relations. Grateful for your continued interest and support.

Today we begin a new chapter for Moldova’s future. I addressed the newly elected Parliament: its mission is to protect peace, serve the people with integrity, and lead our country to its European home. Moldova chose peace and Europe — now we must deliver.
