We then discuss how spatial technology has been used in retrospective clinical research & the potential for spatial technology to become an important tool to define cell types & mechanisms in the brain tumour microenvironment which can be targeted to enhance immunotherapy.

We also highlight how this technology can be overlayed with traditional histopathological stains, including H&E and Masson's trichrome to investigate key histological hallmarks of brain cancer, such as hypoxia, necrosis & extracellular matrix stroma.
