Lookman's made a great start to his career in Spain, even though I don't think many would say he's a Simeone player. His intensity (defensively) was impressive from the first 45, and decision making in the final third perfect. A shame the fallout from Atalanta got so ugly.

Wild stuff in the Wanda with Atleti 4-0 up at HT. Flick's nosebleed of high line occasionally produces defeats such as this, but not sure an XI has picked it apart so ruthlessly. Lookman/Simeone are running riot out wide, Llorente picking off possession in CM. #CopaDelRey

Feels like a 'pulling up the drawbridge' moment in the PL. It's yet another pragmatist rewarded for their achievements, not having any bravery/adaptability upon promotion to a 'bigger' club. It'll be interesting to see if UCL teams in the next few years make similar appointments.

In one of Frank's final interviews, he talked about 'holding' possession and waiting for the right pass. Much was made about his risk aversion towards long range shooting. These principles lead to sterile football, and a reliance on individuals rather than a dynamic collective.

That 17th position finish in 24/25 was constantly referenced by Frank in the press, one of the many mistakes in the media. Viewing the squad through that prism, one that was built for possession and fast attacking, was always going to lead to defeats/draws from a tactical POV.

Frank at Spurs did one of the worst coaching stints in recent PL years, given resources & expectations. There isn't any ambiguity about the style of play at the club. The pattern is set. He's nurtured that attacking identity at Brentford as well, predominantly in the Championship

3 - Mohamed Touré is the first player to score a hat-trick on his first start in England's top four tiers since Jesse Lingard in September 2013. Strewth.

We should be confident going into the FA Cup without complacency. It'll be fun to chase top 6, but as fixtures + points stand, it's too difficult/premature for the playoffs. Given the momentum, form & coaching performance, this is our best opportunity for a Cup run in years #NCFC

2/3 goals were gifts, but that shouldn't diminish from the complete control #NCFC showed. That's so hard to do away in the Championship. A perfect combination of solidity and quality through the pitch. Despite the injuries, there's depth for the rest of 25/26 in league and cup.

Clement's identity in possession, more often that not, is to get the ball into the opposition half directly, win the second and move it wide. When #NCFC are able to retain the ball, it's tempting OUFC on to create space/free men. That's resulted in some excellent patterns of play

Oxford were shocking, but don't think we've got out of third gear in the first 45. McLean's hit a lot of inaccurate switches to Fisher, and not sure the latter is dealing that well with Emakhu. Chrisene's ground crosses (including his assist) have been excellent, though. #NCFC

Fisher's skill in not getting booked this half is era defining. #NCFC

So many satisfying elements of the second goal - but the fact it was so clearly rehearsed/coached with Chrisene making a third man run from the wide channel is one. #NCFC

Was apparent from quite early on that Clement had reservations about Kvistgaarden. Whether that's tactics or behaviour is a question for the media. Thought there was a bit of outcome/goal bias in terms of Toure's 40 mins vs BRFC. Hopefully, he's a bit improved over 60+ mins #NCFC

If clubs, FA, and Premier League executives actually cared about reverting back to English football without VAR, it would have huge influence. The cultural power of English club football has a negative effect - this could be one decision that benefits the sport across the world.

#VAR and Pawson have no choice but to disallow that goal. It's the correct decision. Those arguing for Pawson to go to the monitor and decide 'After review, it's a goal because of the vibes' are living in a fantasy.
