We’ve gone so quickly from “not sure I want to pay $20/month for another AI coding tool when I already pay $20/mo for one” to “my $200/month subscription keeps running out of limits- help!!”. Devs actively using LLMs for work are trending to pay easily $1,000+/month soon….

Please carry on doing what's best for your users. We'll work hard to fix autofill when it isn't working as intended.
Please stop separating email and password fields on login pages. It breaks autofill.

I never went through, but it occurred to me once. Years later, I realized I'd just run into another person like that had I quit. I figured I needed to learn how to deal with that rather than escape. Turned out to be right.

Trade-offs between performance, backwards compatibility, and all of the crazy things that developers throw at autofill. I added it to my list of "things every engineer should dig into in their life". I'm totally going to add autofill design to my list of interview questions.

Kinda of really interesting to see the choices that were made through the code, and how it evolved over time. Truly a well crafted code base, you can tell it is owned with pride. You can almost read the tears and pains through the code base of tough choices over the years.

I've been digging into how Chrome does autofill, and you'd all be surprised how beautifill this system is. Like a power outlet or a water faucet that we take for granted working, autofill is invisible because it is so good: it just works!.

I read early on "why greatness cannot be planned" and remember being a pretty interesting argument. I like the breakdown of the differences outlined here, and it is interesting to see in hindsight choices I've made over the years. Certainly a useful framework!.
