I think when Mike killed the Predator from the movie, he did their work for them. They were coming to get their stolen ship back and murder the pariah.

That’s why the other predators didn’t avenge their fallen comrade and kill Mike (Danny Glover). When the ship at the end landed is debatable, but I think it arrived before the plot of the movie with the single Predator having stolen it from the others.

Also, I’m doubly convinced the predator in Predator 2 isn’t the big game hunter archetype of the first Predator. Instead he/she is a socially maladaptive serial killer archetype that hunts in cities, which even in predator society is deemed weak and unsportsmanlike.
