this is why "disagree and commit" is an important decision-making framework in business. Speed is more important than deliberation, especially since most decisions are reversible.

often the decisions that *feel* the hardest are hard because both outcomes are equally good/bad. Ironically this means they're lower stakes decisions and you should spend less time deliberating on them - either way you'll get a similarly good/bad outcome.

The decisions you usually spend *less* time on are often higher stakes, because one outcome is much worse. So if you miss something critical, and mistake the good choice for the bad one, they can really f*ck you up.

There is not enough political competition in our current system - leads to poor outcomes as establishment monopolies have no incentive to improve.

It would be much better if the hardcore socialists, populists, libertarians, whoever, were be able to take a region of the UK and test their policies for real. Just turn the country into a federation and let Cornwall become Galt's Gulch if that's what ppl there really want.

it's crazy how cheap drones with good software are potentially making the previous generation of billion dollar fighter jets and tanks basically defunct in many scenarios.

Important to be aware of this as a non institutional investor. - Why do you have access to this deal / fund? .- What do you understand that other ppl don’t? . You need to build an understanding of these things to succeed in the asset class.
