Researchers at @LSTMnews have demonstrated that nitisinone - a drug already licensed for rare genetic conditions - can kill mosquitoes both when they ingest it in blood and when they come into contact with it on surfaces. Crucially, this includes insecticide-resistant species.

Measles is highly contagious and can cause serious problems in some people. There will be children who develop measles encephalitis and are at risk of death or brain damage. However, this disease is completely preventable by vaccination and we must do everything we can to get.
