I’ve been running an ultramarathon a day, 220+miles a week, with zero days off for nearly 6.5 months. As of today, I have 7 days left to reach my world record goal of 200 straight days of ultramarathons. 200 days will better the current world record of 23 by 177 days. Let’s go!

Day 199/6,404miles/32 miles a day I’ve forgone comfort every day for 199 days. Many times I wanted to take off my pack & be free. But freedom isn’t just about doing what you want. Discipline, courage & hard work allow us to build a life we want. Without it, is life worth living?

Yesterday: 4 hrs sleep, run 50k at 3am. Catch flights at 1:30pm… delay, delay, delay. Finally arrive in Hawaii at 2am today. Try to get ride to hotel. No rides at 2 or 3am. No rental car places open. F-it, Run 50k instead of sleeping. 50k number 69, complete!

Day 201 / one day after world record / 26.2 miles today One thing that is really surprising to me is that a marathon today (26.2 miles) felt way easier than doing an ultramarathon (32 miles). It also felt like a lot less stress on my body. I’m currently doing a reverse taper!

Day 113 / 3,652 miles / 32 miles a day In a stunning weather turn around, today reached a blistering 50F and I started in shorts and a t-shirt. There’s no doubt in my mind that running in 40-60F temps is advantageous as I’m confident I probably shed 10# of winter clothes alone!

Day 143 / 4,612 miles / 32 miles a day 200 is the new 100 they say! Currently driving to Arizona to do a bunch of days of the world record streak on the Arizona trail, maybe today was my last snow storm?! Today 20F in Colorado, Tomorrow 80F in Tucson 😳

Day 135 / 4,356 miles / 32 miles a day No days off. One unique aspect of this record is that you can’t take a day off. Other records or FKTs can include a zero day without ending the record— altho a zero day can slow down the record for those folks

Day 121 / 3,908 miles / 32 miles a day Every day must be an adventure. Not a task. Not a chore. This is my key to continuing my run streak after so many days, so many miles & in tough conditions. I find ways to have fun.

Day 125 / 4,036 miles / 32 miles a day I may have the ultramarathon streak world record in the bag, but definitely working on the bagel streak record 🙇‍♀️ it’s tough work but someone has to do it!
