Super down with this. Let’s stop sorting kids and focus on determining if they’ve understood the concept/skill.
If there was ever a time to abandon percentage grades, it is now. Universities have gone to satisfactory/incomplete grades, recognizing the impossible task of faculty distinguishing 5 categories of performance. Can we expect HS teachers to accurately distinguish 100 categories?

A kid fell asleep during a quiz. I encouraged him to wake up and work, but he refused. At the end of the day, he asked if he could finish the quiz tomorrow. At first, I thought ABSOLUTELY NOT, but then I remembered that second chances are more important than proving my point.
