One of my more controversial opinions is that MPs and MSPs should be paid far more than they are. I had a friend who started on £80k straight out of uni in London. Another who was making £400k a year in his mid 20s. An immeasurable amount of talent is lost because parliament

MPs to get a 5% pay rise to almost 100k. Hear me out on this one. I'd happily double it on condition that being an MP is your ONLY source of income. That might get rid of a few of the grifters and incentivise them to actually serve their constituants rather than themselves.
