As a firefighter and now as Chief, I carry the memory of that day and the people we lost. I remember the heartbreak of those who never came home, and the resilience of the families and communities who endure. Be who we were on 9/12. Honor them with kindness toward each other.

I agree with the intent of this post, with a couple of caveats. In larger organizations, someone who works in another location or several levels above you may not know everyone’s name. Also, leadership is crucial, but management stuff still needs to get done
