Hi Northern Hemisphere 👋🏻 Small request: When communicating with an international audience, instead of using seasons to depict time, can you please use a unit of measurement that is the same for everybody? eg. "In June" rather than "In the Summer". Thanks, Southern Hemisphere.

Just @photomatt letting the big numbers blind him from the important numbers. Like, the number of long-term contributors leaving the project entirely.
Since Sept 17th, 2024, when the whole @wpengine thing started, there have been 28,738,111 downloads of WordPress Core (this includes all versions and all languages), 296,991,952 downloads of plugins, and 7,338,623 downloads of themes. But yes, tell us WordPress is in trouble. 😂

What are the best alternatives to Advanced Custom Fields @wp_acf for people who want to switch away? Is there an easy way to migrate? I suspect there are going to be millions of sites moving away from it in the coming weeks.

I'm sympathetic to @photomatt's dilemma with Wordpress contribution and WP Engine (not the way it's been handled tho). But man, he's having an Elon-class meltdown, I hope he can take some time off the Internet to get in a better mental place.

Here's the clip of Matt smugly joking about how @WPEngine has been cut off from the dot org repo and how they need to "figure out" how to handle updates for ACF... no care for the customers who spend money with WPEngine and are caught in the middle. Matt needs to go.
