Are you sleeping on dictation + AI for content? . Have a graveyard of half-written articles. Great ideas, terrible execution?. If I can explain complex code to AI through voice - why not treat article planning the same way? .

I asked AI to migrate my Gatsby JS blog site to Next.js. It completely failed. Turns out I was asking Claude to solve the wrong problem. Instead of "migrate this mess," I should have said "build from scratch.".

Vibe coding with one prompt and expecting everything to "just work". I have been doing this a while, but had hoped my new fancy Claude workflow could handle a migration. Some learnings:

But here's the catch: AI isn't point-and-shoot. You need proper scoping upfront. Talk through your plan, document it, break it into sections. What gives you less headache gives AI less headache too.

Real example: Adding OAuth to a Next.js app. ❌ Old way: 30 minutes of back-and-forth .✅ New way: 8 minutes, perfect integration. The difference? Claude now knew our patterns, had current docs, and reasoned through dependencies first.

So you end up doing this dance:. - Ask for a feature.- Get generic code that ignores your patterns.- Spend 20 minutes explaining context.- Fix outdated API calls.- Realize you're doing the work anyway.

The problem with AI coding isn't the AI - it's the amnesia. Claude writes decent code, but it's like working with a brilliant intern who's never seen your codebase before. Every request starts from zero context. 😤.
