Here's a quick animated compilation of all the smear frames in action, categorizing still work in progress.

. I'm thinking about expanding a section for Glitch Art and used as smears - datamoshing, pixel sorting, RGB split, compression, scanlines, rgb split, etc. The four texture mediums can be drawing/brush, print media (halftones, screentones), film/lens, and digital.

15/. 5.3 - Simulated Blurs: Chromatic Aberration.A lens imperfection that prevents all wavelengths of light from focusing at the same point. Individual color channels are offset to produce a color-fringed ghosting that can be exaggerated into a stylized smear.

14/. 5.2 - Simulated Blurs: Smudged Blurs.Manual smearing of artwork to stylize and shape motion blur, especially for isolated blurring or complex vector blurs. Unlike the overlaid dry brush effects, this technique manipulates the actual pixels, as if blending with a wet brush.

13/. 5.1 - Simulated Blurs: Filmic Motion Blur.Digital blur simulating camera shutter effects, often simplified to a directional blur.

12/. 4.5 - Motion Trails: Lights & Particles.Motion trails made up of emitted particles, displaced environmental elements, or light streaks that are separate from the object itself.

11/. 4.4 - Motion Trails: Pencil Gestures.Additional directional pencil-like scribbles overlaid over the fastest moving areas.

10/. 4.3 - Motion Trails: Textured Brush Strokes.Broad, textured strokes overlaid where motion blur would occur, traditionally created with a dry brush. Other rendering styles can be layered as well, such as halftone patterns or cross-hatching.

9/. 4.2 - Motion Trails: Color Bleeds.Colors from the object elongate and trail beyond its linework, as if it is catching up to its shape.

8/. 4.1 - Motion Trails: Speedlines.Additional line strokes overlaid on the object and its path, inherited from comic strips to indicate speed and direction or vibration.
