Looking at tech workers in the UK and US on LinkedIn, we find that women are less likely to be connected to Big Tech companies than men. But when they are, the payoffs of these connections for promotions and relocations are larger for women.

Women's offline professional networks are less advantageous than men's. But how do these gender gaps look on online professional networking platforms? How are online networks associated with promotion and mobility outcomes, and do these vary differentially be gender?
